WHAT IS STYLE?
Style is looking at fashion through your unique rose-coloured glasses – looking at a plain t-shirt and seeing it working with a sequin mini skirt when everyone sees denim shorts. And it’s not listening to anyone else, that’s very important too.

WHY DOES STYLE MATTER?
Style is a huge part of your personality! It’s a way of expressing who you are and all the complex pieces of you, without even speaking. In other words, “style is a simple way of saying complicated things” – a quote I love by Jean Cocteau.

Your style is an embodiment of all you create, how is this a reflection of you?
For me, my style is a result of years and years of experimenting, questionable fashion choices, favourite wardrobe items, travel, music and bad haircuts! It’s constantly changing.

WHICH ARTISTS ARE INFLUENCING & INSPIRING YOU RIGHT NOW?
As you can tell by my playlist, I’m heavily influenced by hip-hop and rap. It makes its way into my wardrobe, I listen to it while I’m writing. It’s fun… and badass.

Who are a couple of women whose style you most admire?
They’re all so different!
The Olsens will always have a special place in my heart. They’re just the best, and I love that their style is so different every few years – they evolve. I even stuck by them during their extra weird phases.
Cara Delevingne is another one I love – she is tomboy by day, edgy by night, which is pretty much my goals when getting dressed.
Chloe Sevigny because she’s always worn – and pulled off – whatever the hell she wants.
Also, Rihanna – she is the epitome of fashion-meets-art, confidence and sex appeal – with a dash of ghetto glam.

What’s the most exciting thing happening now in the world of music?
So many things…
Women world domination, for starters! The girls are killing the boys!
I love that music today involves so many other forms of art too, especially fashion and cinema. The world’s biggest fashion designers are creating insane costumes, the film clips are cinematic and the albums are visual. It makes sense to bring it all together.
I’m also a huge fan of 60s and 70s music, so I love seeing those influences come through. Tame Impala is one of my favourites, for this reason (even though my mum says my generation just copies hers).

Who inspires you?
Regular people inspire me more than famous people. People that have started their own empires, girls with killer style that I walk past in the street, people that quit their jobs and travel the world.

Why do you love sass & bide?
First and foremost, I love sass & bide because it’s FUN! Fashion can get way too serious sometimes, and it’s a reminder that we should all take a chill pill once in a while and wear some sparkles during the day.
