sass & bide HQ’s resident DJ, George Barnes, from our Design Collective has put together his list of tracks inspired by sass & bide Moon Shadow.
We caught up with George to chat music, design & more. You can hear George’s mix playing throughout sass & bide stores during style week and can listen to it via Spotify. George will also be doing a guest DJ set in our Sydney Westfield store Thursday 9 March, 3-5.30pm.

WHAT WERE YOUR INSPIRATIONS FOR THE PLAYLIST YOU HAVE CREATED FOR SASS & BIDE?
A blend of songs that people will be familiar with from around the 70s, some oddities and a few new things I felt had a place with these great tracks from the past..

What do you most love about DJing and what’s your favourite place to play a set at?
The constant search for new music new and old. Then figuring out how to make people dance to said songs… Favourite place to play is, where ever people are up for a good time.
Tell us about the most amazing DJ experience you have had?
So far playing in a little club in Edinburgh called Sneaky Petes. An amazing crowd that were down for the journey.
Which music artist would you love to collaborate with?
Golden Teacher – Amazing Italo, afro dance band. I would love to create something in some way with them.
Which artists are influencing & inspiring you right now?
Olafur Eliasson never stops amazing me with what he and his team create.
What’s the most exciting thing happening now in the world of music?
People are still making vinyl!
Who are a couple of women whose style you most admire?
I love how wild Michele Lamy is – true decadence! Solange is always looking tip top!
