sass & bide was selected by the International Trade Centre (ITC), a United Nations body, to join a line-up including Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood and Ilaria Venturini Fendi in The Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) in 2012. ITC’s Ethical Fashion Initiative partners with the Kenya based Artisan.Fashion to engage artisans and micro-producers from areas across sub-Saharan Africa. The aim is to empower women through trade, ownership and commerce.
sass & bide is committed to a continued collaboration with Africa’s talented artisans through Artisan.Fashion, a member of the Fair Labor Association dedicated to protecting workers’ rights.
As early pioneers of ethical fashion, sass & bide has created numerous sustainable pieces with African communities stretching from the Maasai Mara to Laikipia. We collaborate with Artisan.Fashion to produce travel bags, shoppers, clutches and keyrings.
